Zidora Africa @Play: “We Made Our Country Proud”: Esther Mba Says AS she Helps Nigeria’s Beach Volleyball Team Won A Bronze Medal at All-African Games

Esther Mba, a young beach volleyball player representing Nigeria, shared her joy and pride in securing a bronze medal for her country at the All-African Games. Despite their youth, Mba and her teammate fought hard and showcased their talent on an international stage, Sports247 reports.

“I feel so happy. I’m very happy because this is my first African game. And with the whole stages we passed through…we played with Olympians and still came out third, which is a big one for us. We are so happy. Considering our age, this is our first African game.

We are so happy we’re coming here. We’re not going back empty,” Mba stated, expressing her elation and satisfaction with their performance.

Reflecting on the intense competition, Mba revealed the determination that drove them to succeed. “What was running in our mind was that this is an opportunity…And because we lost in the semis, it doesn’t mean we will not take the bronze. So yes, we went in that we must win it for our country. And yes, we made our country proud.”

Looking ahead, Mba shared their plans to prepare for the Confederation Cup, scheduled for June in Morocco. This upcoming event presents another opportunity for these young athletes to shine and make their country proud.

Mba concluded her interview with a heartfelt message of gratitude to the government and people of Nigeria. “Thank you all so much for the support, those that supported us, those that prayed for us and encouraged us even when we lost. Thank you so much. God bless you. We appreciate, really appreciate. We are here because of your support.”

As the All-African Games continue, the spotlight is on Nigeria’s young athletes like Mba, whose dedication, resilience, and spirit of competition promise to make Nigeria proud on the international stage.
