Zenith Bank Women League National Final 8: Quarter Finals begin on Tuesday

Quarter final games of the Zenith Bank Women League National Final 8 will commence on Tuesday after the conclusion of group games.

On match day 3, A close game it was between Customs of Abuja and Delta Force of Asaba in the third game of Match Day 3 at the ongoing Zenith Bank Women Basketball League National Final 8.

At the end of the fourth quarter, Customs won the game 58-51 points in the dying minutes of the second half,  thanks to Josette Anaswem who scored 26 points, 4 assists and 5 rebounds

Delta Force’s, Agbotan Success scored 19 points, 4 assists and 4 rebounds.

It was a one sided affair as reigning Champions, First Bank decimated Plateau Rocks, 84-40 points on Sunday eveningat the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Lagos.

Okoro Ifunanya led the onslaught against the ladies from Jos with 16 points, 2 assists and 3 rebounds

Gloria Umeh’s 18 points and 4 rebounds were not enough to help Plateau Rocks as they finished bottom of group A without a win.

First Bank closed their  group game campaign with another emphatic win against Plateau Rocks to top group A at the ongoing Zenith Bank Plc Women Basketball League National Final 8.

Customs finished 2nd, Delta Force settled for third while Plateau Rocks  finished last.

MFM Queens after 2 losses came out all guns blazing against hapless BlackGold in their last group game.

A dominant display from Obenten Blessing with 20 points, 1 assist and 7 rebounds gave MFM a 97-31 points win over BlackGold.

Experienced Nzekwe Oluchi came through with 14 points, 2 assists and 4 rebounds as MFM finished third in group B.

Meanwhile, the Honorable Minister of Sports, Sunday Dare paid a surprise visit to the venue of Zenith Bank Women League National Final 8 during the final game of the day.

 

Speaking with the team, Honorable Dare lauded the level of competition between the teams while promising continued government support to the Engr Musa Kida led Federation and basketball development in Nigeria
