Super Eagles left-back Zaidu Sanusi has reacted to the retirement of former Real Madrid star Pepe who called it quits on his football career on Thursday.
Pepe’s last game was in the European Championship concluded last month, when he featured for Portugal in their quarter-final clash against France.

Pepe, whose full name is Kepler Laveran de Lima Ferreira, is a Brazilian-born Portuguese footballer known for his pivotal role in defense. He started his professional career at Marítimo before moving to Porto, where he established himself as a formidable defender.
His success at Porto propelled him to Real Madrid, where he won numerous domestic and international titles, including multiple UEFA Champions League trophies. Pepe is also recognized for his contributions to the Portuguese national team, aiding them in clinching the UEFA Euro2016 title.
Just like Cristiano Ronaldo, Sanusi has taken to his social account to celebrate the retired defender whom he played with at Porto for four consecutive seasons.

Sanusi joined Porto in the summer of 2020, a year after Pepe rejoined the Portuguese giants and they both won six titles together with the club.
The Nigeria international is still trying to recover from the anterior cruciate ligament injury he suffered in February which has kept him out of action till now.
