In a renewed attempt to build a nationally oriented and dynamic Youth platform focused for service delivery and purposed for working with government to ensure that the myriad of government policies, initiatives and projects aimed at youth development reach them.
Towards achieving this, the ministry is energizing a new process of inviting for registeration all youth focused organizations in Nigeria who meet simple criteria and registeration guidelines set out by the FMYSD.
Charged constitutionally with the onerous responsibility to develope the youth and open them to opportunities, the ministry is poised to engage a broad section of Nigeria youth devoid of any politicking.
Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare has stressed that President Muhammadu Buhari’s commitment to uplifting the Nigerian Youth cannot be sacrificed on the altar of parochial squabbles and blind ambition.
The Minister, who took to his verified Twitter handle, @SundayDareSD, on Tuesday to decry the protracted crisis in the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), revealed that the Ministry is now opened to partnering with other youth organizations on merit.
He tweeted, “The FG through the instrumentality of the Ministry of Youth and Sports has tried to resolve the NYCN leadership crisis. Clearly, those fuelling the crisis have no interest of Nigerian Youth at heart. MYSD has been left with one choice: Partner with Youth Organizations on merit…
“There is too much at stake for the Nigerian Youth. The commitment of the Buhari government to uplifting the Nigerian Youth cannot be sacrificed on the altar of parochial squabbles and blind ambition. Our laws and the Ministry provide guidance in this situation.
“The Ministry has concluded plans to make provisions for youth organizations to register on its website,” the Minister said.
