Nasarawa State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Jafaru Ango, and Permanent Secretary, Chief Barr. Isaac Danladi, have been decorated as Ambassadors of a Non-Governmental Organisation, “I HAVE CONSCIENCE FOUNDATION”, IHCF.
At a brief but elaborate ceremony held at the State’s Headquarters of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development in Lafia, on Friday, the Chief Executive Officer and founder of IHCF, Amb. Adewumi Kayode Adebayo, said the Organization aims to reawaken people’s conscience towards positive, constructive and peaceful behaviour in the society.
He noted that the Organisation, an affiliate of the United Nations, UN, has been in operation for two years, and joins the rest of the world, every 5th April, to mark the International Day Of Conscience.
Kayode explained that the UN had requested that more people who are devoting their relentless efforts to serve humanity be co-opted into the knowledge of Conscience, regardless of their religion, social strata or cultural background, across Nigeria, to bestow upon them the title of “CONSCIENCE AMBASSADOR”, hence the choice of Hon. Jafaru Ango and Permanent Secretary, Chief Barr. Isaac Danladi for the recognition.
The CEO opined that the title recipients had been carefully selected due to their track records in the service to humanity and society in their areas of endeavours, particularly in the youth and sports sector.
Kayode called on the latest recipients to continue with their laudable service to humanity and society for a better world.
The Permanent Secretary would later be decorated with the insignia of the “I HAVE CONSCIENCE AMBASSADOR” title, and presented with a distinguished plague, before also receiving on behalf of the Commissioner, who was unavoidably absent during the period of the visitation.
In his acceptance address, the Permanent Secretary, expressed gratitude to the Organisation for finding the Honourable Commissioner and himself worthy for the special recognition and enrolled as Ambassadors for the Organisation.
He said it was a great gesture that would spur them to do more for society and humanity.
He thanked the Organisation for identifying with them, and making the Ministry a port of call, noting that it was a testament to the fact that many are called but few are chosen.
Danladi assured the Organisation of strengthening the relationship between both parties to ensure the attainment of their respective goals and aspirations.
He promised that they would be better AMBASSADORS of the “I HAVE CONSCIENCE FOUNDATION”, especially as Public Servants.
The Permanent Secretary disclosed that he would inform the Commissioner on the development for the needful to be done for the mutual benefit of both Organizations.
Directors of the Ministry and Chairperson of Nasarawa Amazons FC, Hajiya Hussaina Suleiman Nagogo, also joined the Permanent Secretary to receive the august visitors.
Nasarawa State Ambassador of IHCF, Mrs. Grace Ashelo Joshua and the State’s Volunteer for IHCF, Victoria Jonathan, were other members that made up the visiting team to the office of the Permanent Secretary.
