While the Abia Warriors Football Club of Umuahia lost the recently concluded FA Cup 0–2 to El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri, Abia State Governor Alex Otti commended the team, supporters, technical staff, and management for their outstanding performance.

The President Federation Cup final was held on Saturday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos.
El-Kanemi Warriors put up a fabulous show to subdue the hard-fighting Abia Warriors 2-0 in a game that kept spectators on the edges of their seats for long periods.
According the Governor Alex Otti, “The Umuahia-based squad made Abia State and the people of Abia proud in this year’s FA Cup.” He also lauded them for showing remarkable development over their previous editions’ performance and records.
In addition to congratulating the team for breaking the jinx and making it to the tournament finals, the governor urged them to utilize their experience as motivation for their upcoming task.
The governor encouraged the people of Abia to hold onto hope and get ready to lift the trophy in the upcoming competition, thanking them for their tremendous support in helping the team beat other teams all the way to the competition finals.
The state governor promised that the team would be celebrated for their performances.
