Former Super Eagles and Everton Captain Joseph Yobo has described Barcelona and Argentina captain Lionel Messi as the greatest player in the World after Wednesday night performance against Liverpool at the Camp Nou.
The Argentina superstar scored his 600th career goal from a sensational free-kick which could not be saved by the Liverpool goalkeeper.
”I think that’s what makes him so special, Alisson knew where the ball was going to go but the precision, it’s just an exquisite free-kick,” said Yobo.
”It is magnificent, like Dwight rightly said, it’s all in one. Messi knew what he wanted to do, knew his spot. The goalkeeper knew he’s coming that way but it was just a beauty to watch.
”It is an unbelievable goal, he is the greatest player in the world.”
Barcelona travel to Anfield for the return leg next week Tuesday and are favourites to progress to the final due to a healthy three-goal advantage.
