“We thank Allah and executive governor of Yobe State because he is the one that funds the club, a government owned club, sponsored by the Yobe State government. The governor is a sport-loving governor, youthful who dubs as acting chairman, APC. Anything that you see is from the governor and apart from that, once we receive funds from the governor, we’ll do the right thing.”
He also applauded the fans that came to cheer the team up in Jos as they deserve to be hosted to a party, “we appreciate them. To win Plateau Utd isn’t an easy match, previously we had played Wikki Tourists of Bauchi and we lost 1 goal to nil conceding at the 85th minute so the victory is for Yobe and not for me.”
On the push for the win, he stated, “our first motivation was that we are well kitted, we came in with 40 players to lodge them in a hotel, everyone with their allowances, they were very happy so with that the boys are in high spirit, they want to just play football.”
Concerning the continental game preparation, he allayed “I have seen the team though the coach has raised some players because of the continental game preparation, they are representing the country and not only Plateau but also Nigeria. So we are solidly behind them, we give them support, prayer, and everything. I’ll discuss with the coach and talk to him about some things have seen and noticed.”
Ago further revealed that the early division next season is the team’s target, “we are working towards that you know to get the premier league in Nigeria is not an easy task more especially playing an abridged team divided into four, A1, A2, B1, B2 but hopefully we are working towards that to return back to the top division.”
