President and CEO of YG Football Agency, Yusuf Garba has said that seeing youthful football flourish is a key motive of his continued engagements at the local levels.
Speaking with Sports247 at his unveiling as a patron of the Ikeja Division Football League, Garba laid bare that he prioritizes grassroots football to help steer youths away from all forms of criminal activities in the societies.
He said: “Grassroots football development is part of my priority. I normally concentrate on the youths to help move them away from the streets. To keep them busy and let them have something doing in order to avoid them being involved with these unnecessary criminal activities in the society.”
The president of the YG Football Club also talked about the idea of a female regional league to come in place.
“It is a very good development,” Garba said.
“The younger ones that are coming up, we have to keep them busy also. By the time we create a league for them, to have a program, they will have something doing to keep them busy and also move them away from the streets.”
