Former director general of defunct National Sports Commission, Alhassan Yakmut is still picking positives from the 19th Sports Festival Festival in Abuja, as he believes it has laid the ground for regular discovery of talents for the country.
Making his view known in a chat with sports247.ng, Yakmut enthused that re-introduction of the sports festival means talents will now be discovered for Nigeria, as it use to be in the past.
Yakmut retorted: “I am happy that the sports festival is back. It means we can start talking about a regular supply of talents as we used to have.
“I am also sure that very sure the next edition will not last for another six years, as was the case from the last edition in Lagos in 2012.
“The way I see it, the country has learnt from the mistake of delaying the festival for that period, which affected a lot of sports talents.”
