The Hon. Commissioner for Sports and Youths Development Plateau State, Bashir Lawandi Datti, has commended the performance of the 2017 NPFL Champions, Plateau United FC, after losing narrowly at the finals of the just concluded Gusau/Ahlan Pre-season Tournament in Bauchi State.
Plateau United FC of Jos Played 6 six Encounter, Scored 9 Good Goals Conceded 2, won 4, drew 1 and lost 1, their only loss was recorded in the last game against Doma United FC of Gombe on penalty Shootouts after 90 minutes of a goalless draw after which Doma United scored 4 from the penalty spot and missed one, while Plateau United Scored 3 and missed 2.
Hon. Datti said that this outcome of results is a good indication that the preparation and recruitment are superb.
He further urged the technical crew to work hard and correct their mistakes before the commencement of the new 2023/2024 NPFL season,
“With the caliber of these experienced players I watched twice here in Bauchi, I expect to see Plateau United play in the Continent next season”
“You must continue to work hard and work on all your mistakes ahead of the new 2023/2024 NPFL Season.”
The Hon. Commissioner also commended the Plateau State Government under the leadership of his Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for the adequate support given to the club and Sports in general on the Plateau.
He also commended the management of Plateau Utd FC under the leadership of acting General Manager, Habila Hosea Mutla and his assistant Danjuma Isandu for the great pre-season preparations and hard work done so far, he reminded them that the target of the Plateau State Government is to see the club playing at the continental level.

The new 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League season is expected to kick off on September 9.
