Nigerian midfielder Wisdom Kanu has joined Slovakia Super Liga club MFK Zemplin Michalovce on a two-year contract, Sports247 reports.
Kanu, 27, joins the club from Slovak second league side FK Slavoj Trebišov where he enjoyed a breakout year in the 2020-21 season.
The attacking midfielder netted 18 times in Slavoj’s colors to become the top scorer of the Slovak second division last campaign and he was also included in the league’s team of the season.
Kanu’s exploits made him a known name in the whole of Slovakia and he was honored with the Discovery of the Year award, an annual prize in the country.
Kanu turned out for a number of Nigerian lower league clubs before moving to Slovakia in 2016 where has played mostly for second division clubs. He will continue his career with MFK Zemplin Michalovce in the country’s highest division.
