Following his side’s impressive away win against Dream Stars Ladies, Head Coach of Pelican Stars, Sanusi Adeleke has stated that the win will serve as a motivation to the players, as they look forward to more wins, which will push them up in the league standings.
Reacting with Sports247 after the match, Sanusi Adeleke admitted that the game was a good one, even though his team player under pressure, due to their poor performance in previous matches. He stated that he kept faith in his players by encouraging them and hopes the win becomes a turning point to their season.
“The game was a very good game and we give God all the Glory for the victory”.
“My team played under pressure today because we have not been performing well since the league started and everyone was talking and criticizing the team. I had to keep faith in my players and encourage them as well. That’s why we came out victorious here in Lagos”.
“This is like a turning point to our season because it’s not easy to go away for home and win, most especially winning here in Lagos, against a good side like Dreamstars Ladies. This victory will serve as a motivation to the team, as well as make the people of Cross River State believe in the team too. I just want them to keep praying for the team, not just criticized the team always”, he stated.
Pelican Stars will hope to build on the momentum of winning in Lagos, they execute subsequent matches in NWFL.
