Following the ongoing Winners Golden Bet Lagos State FA Cup, the Chairman of Ikeja Divisional Football Association, Taiwo Rafiu Alagbe has postponed the second round of Super League which is scheduled to commence this week.
In a statement signed by Association Secretary, Alaba Omoniyi and released to Sports247, the Ikeja DFA boss said the postponement was necessary to allow the teams from the super League to fully take part in the ongoing Lagos FA Cup.
“We regret to announce the postponement of Ikeja super league and the league would resume 10, June. We observed that some of our teams are taking part In the Lagos Fs Cup so we want them to concentrate and play their FA Cup. We regret any inconvenience the postponement might cause our participating teams’., he said.
Alagbe however urged the club owners that have issues with the association to use this period to come to the secretariat and resolve their problems before the resumption of the league.
He also wished all the super league teams in Lagos FA Cup all the best and urged them to shun hooliganism during and after their matches.
