Winners FC top the round one of the Unimatt Challenge Cup with an emphatic 4-0 win over Ambassadors FC to lead 15 others into the Round of 16.

The match which was played on Sunday was the climax of the first round fixtures which saw 9 teams pick up the maximum 3 points while two teams played out draw. 5 Others teams went through to the Second round as best losers despite losing their games.
In the Round of 16 Fixtures released by the Local Organizing committee, Winners FC will meet Diamond 07 on Monday match 4th. Diamond FC qualified as one of the best losers after losing 1-0 to Big Daddy in the first round.
Starpeak who dispatched Nice 3-0 in the first round will lock horns with Emerald FC who suffered a 2-1 defeat in the hands of Green Rangers FC. Also on Monday, O.Elite will face off with Superfly in a winners take all.
O.elite defeated KG Sports 2-1 while Superfly fell 1-0 to Ika lions in the first round. Ika Lions will take on KG Sports Academy in the final game on 4th March at the Baptist High school ground. KG Sports Academy, The Pride of Agbor are yet to hit their strides in the tournament and will be looking to use this encounter to bounce back after their slim 2-1 loss to O. Elite in the first round.
On Tuesday 5th March, Unimatt Fc will lock horns with Abavo FC in what would be a rematch of their first round encounter. In the first round, Unimatt raised to a 3-0 lead before Abavo rallied back to end the encounter 4-3 in favor of Unimatt. Certainly they will have revenge in their mind as they file out.
Green Rangers will lock horns with Dani FC while Delta milan takes on Golden Boys. The battle of two favorites will see Big Daddy FC tackling Ultimate Stars. Big Daddy won their first game 1-0 against debutante Diamond 07 while Ultimate knocked out Soccer stars by similar scoreline.
Unlike the first round where teams were ranked according to their points and fairplay (Cards Received), the Round of 16 is straight knockout. matches that ends in stalemate will go into straight penalties.
