Wilfred Ndidi has been speeding up his comeback from injury before Leicester City return to pre-season training. The Nigerian has been working hard in Dubai while the rest of his teammates are on vacation, according to the Leicester City Mercury.
Ndidi missed the final two and a half months of last season due to a knee injury he sustained during Leicester’s UEFA Europa Conference League last-16, second leg tie with Rennes on March 17. He missed a total of 16 games for Leicester at the end of the 2021/22 campaign and also missed Nigeria’s FIFA World Cup playoff double-header against Ghana.
Chris Bowman of Elite Sports Performance in the United Arab Emirates, who has worked alongside Ndidi, said:
“Pleasure to assist Wilf with his rehab whilst here in Dubai this last week. Thanks to LCFC becoming the latest club to trust our service Elite Sports Performance with their player and wishing Wilfred the best of luck with the comeback.”
Before his season was cut short due to injury, Ndidi managed to play in 32 games last season. Leicester will begin their preseason preparations early next month. The Foxes will start the 2022/23 season with a Premier League fixture against Brentford at home on August 6th.
