Super Eagles defensive midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi has paid tribute to the huge contribution Leicester City chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha made to football following his death on Saturday.
Ndidi scored an 88th minute goal for the Foxes as they drew 1-1 with 10-man West Ham United in the English Premier League last weekend, with Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha in attendance.
On Sunday, Srivaddhanaprabha was named as one of five people to have died in a helicopter crash outside the Foxes’ King Power Stadium following their 1-1 Premier League draw with West Ham.
After taking over the club in 2010, Srivaddhanaprabha turned Leicester from a Championship club into champions of England in six years.
Their title triumph in 2015-16 “captured the imagination of the world and Ndidi paid his tribute to the lovely owner.
“You were far too kind and supportive,” Ndidi wrote via Twitter.
“Thank you for all you did for the club, for always encouraging the team and coming all the way to watch me play at the world cup. Rest on sir #theboss 💔😢
