WIkki Tourists fc is out of the Abuja Pre Season tournament following its 1-1 draw with Manahaim fc.
The Tourists had played three matches and drew all ending the group stage on third position with three points behind EFCC who also had three points but with goal forward difference of 3 while Wikki had 2.
Muhammed Guda opened scores for Wikki Tourists in the 32minutes benefiting from a corner by Abubakar Aliyu.
The Manahaim boys fought back for an equaliser but their effort was not enough to draw level till end of first half.
Some second half substitutions were made on the side of Wikki Tourists.
Fuad Ekelejuoti coming in for Abubakar Aliyu while Farinyaro replaced Ogene Elijah both at 65minutes.
At 75minutes another substitution was made by the tourists as Hadi Muhammed came in for Muhammed Guda and Shola Abdulrahim replaced Haruna Salifu all in an effort to get more goals but the Manahaim boys became more aggressive instead.
Their equaliser came barely 3minutes to end the game as a shot was fired home from a corner by the Manahaim attacker to draw level.
Coach Kabiru Dogo while reacting after the match said it was unfortunate that the team ended the Competition at that level and quickly appealed for calm and understanding of supporters of Wikki Tourist Fc saying that that’s the essence of the pre season.
‘The essence of the pre season is to expose especially the players to the rigous of what to expect in the league and for us to know who is capable of being in the team and who is not.
We are happy it happened now when we have time to make the necessary adjustments before the commencement of the League and definitely that will be done,Dogo assured.
