Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, were on Sunday, held to a nil all draw by Wikki Tourists of Bauchi an an NPFL match day 14 clash, decided at the Lekan Salami Stadium.
The Oluyole Warriors failed to make use any of the chances they created, especially in the second half, after a not too impressive first half.
Coach Edith Agoye made few changes to his line up , as newly signed Adeniyi Adekunle paired Abbey Benson in the central back, while there was also starting shirt for Sunday Faleye.
There were only few anxious moments in the first half, with the Kabiru Dogo tutored Wikki Tourists, having the most of the few opportunities.
They could have gone ahead in the 17th minute but had a well struck shot by Sunday Haruna hit the upright, before the Abbey Benson led 3SC defence cleared the ball out of danger.
The second half however, belonged to the host, as they launched series of attacks on the visitors, who however defended well and responded ocassionally with counter attacks.
The introduction of Alalade Wasiu, Ayo Adejubu and Malomo Taifeeq, helped increase the pressure on Wikki Tourists but the stars were shy in front of goal.
Midway into the second half, Sunday Faleye had dribbled his way into the 18 yard box before being hacked by a Tourists defender but the referee waved for play to continue, ignoring a penalty call, thus eliciting the reactions from the home fans.
Substitutes, Malono Taofeek and Ayo Adejubu, were afterwards, unlucky as their efforts on different ocassions, failed to hit target, even after the ball had beaten goalkeeper Galadima Muhammed, in goal for the visitors.
Wikki Tourists, led by former Shooting Stars’ right back, Taye Muritala, held on to ensure the spoils were shared.
Shooting Stars’ next game is a trip to Okigwe, Anambra State, where they will face Abia Warriors in a matchday 15 fixture, holding next Sunday.
