Muhammed Azeez Audu, the Technical Adviser of Wikki Tourists FC, has expressed his team’s unwavering focus on their preparations for the upcoming 2023/24 NNL Season.
This determination comes in response to the recent announcement by the league organizers to postpone the league’s kick-off.
Audu revealed this during an interview with the club’s media. He mentioned that the news of the postponement was met with mixed feelings but assured that it would not hinder their readiness for the upcoming season.
“We had planned very well and were just waiting for our first game when suddenly the news of the postponement came. Naturally, we felt disappointed, but I believe it was for the good of the game.
The organizers were forced to do that, and our only hope is that we will receive a new date soon,” Audu stated.
In the meantime, Wikki Tourists FC will continue with their regular training routines and organize friendly matches to maintain their fitness levels while they await the new kick-off date.

The NNL organizers had initially scheduled October 28, 2023, as the kick-off date for the new season but later decided to postpone it.
The reason cited in their release on October 25, 2023, was the inability of participating clubs to complete their registration for the season.
The statement did not announce a new date but extended the registration deadline for clubs until October 3, 2023.
