Vice-Chairman of Lagos State Football Association, LSFA, Alhaji Tade Azeez has explained why the association relaunched the new Ekofootball website.
Addressing the journalists during the launching of the Ekofootball website held at Lagos FA secretariat, Azeez said the website was officially launched to showcase the programmes and events of Ekofootball and other certified football competitions by Lagos FA.
“The website is officially launched Thursday to showcase Ekofootball programmes and other events. Aside from this, we want to project the image of our players outside the world and ensure that all our programmes will be showing live on the website. The website would also carry news about Ekofootball competitions, programmes and other football being organized by association or football divisions in the state,” he said.
Azeez who spoke on behalf of the chairman of the association, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi further said the website would also help the foreign football scouts to know more about the players that participate in Ekofootball programmes or programmes being organized by Lagos FA. He urged the football stakeholders to see the website as a platform they can get programmes of Lagos FA and other football programmes being certified and approved by the state football ruling body.
In his own comment, sports content creator, Gbe ga Salo said the website was designed to meet the expectations of stakeholders saying that the website carries many contents which many stakeholders can get first-hand information about Ekofootball programmes.
He said the website is created for every stakeholder to see the programmes of Lagos FA noted that more football competitions both national and international would be covered and reported as it happens.
Asked if Lagos FA Cup would still hold this year, Azeez said the annual competition would hold very soon saying that the Association is putting measures in place for the commencement of the competition.
“We are playing Lagos FA Cup very soon but we need to conclude with our sponsor and fix a date for the biannual competition. We want to assure all the participating teams that the competition would hold without any postponement,” he said.
Azeez also assured that all amateur clubs in Lagos would soon be engaged in a competition which Lagos FA would facilitate. He said that he is aware that most of these amateur clubs don’t engage after their amateur league noted that the Lagos FA is planning to organize a championship that would keep them busy ahead of their next amateur league.
