Nigerian professional basketball player who featured in NBA, Olumide Oyedeji has not hidden his pain of the sudden death of LA Lakers black Mamba legend, Kobe Bryant in an helicopter crash.
Oyedeji who led Nigeria to its first-ever AfroBadket trophy in Tunisia 2015 couldn’t contain the hurt after reports of the helicopter crash with Kobe’s 13-year-old basketball star daughter, Gianna in the plane with him.
Bryant, 41 was one of the famous athletes in America with his club, LA Lakers retiring the No 24 and 8 shirts in honour of the five-times NBA winner.
Olumide’s tribute read:
“So sad, so hard to say goodbye to you, true warrior, champion, a great leader. Words alone can’t explain the impact you had in sports, absolute legend, am devastated to miss an icon athlete”.
“Such a great competitor I ever competed against. RIP Kobe Bryant”.
