The WGB Lagos FA Cup final will see Dannaz FC take on Ottasolo FC in the men’s final while defending champions Robo Queens face Dannaz Ladies.
Chairman of Dannaz FC, Mr Danny Nazal has set sights on having the team win both finals to make history.
“We’re not fully happy yet as we have the final match still to go for both the men and women’s team and we hope to be congratulated after the final and it’s not impossible in football so long as you don’t focus sizing your opponents,” Mr Danny told Sports247.
“We have always been the underdogs and this season didn’t change and we’re in the final. This is a result of hard work, sacrifices and commitment from the boys, girls and coaches as we worked together always, he added.
Dannaz FC have made recognizable progress in the last few years in both male and female categories as the male team started from the Ikeja Divisional league, made it to the playoffs for the Nationwide Division One League Three, the promoted to the League two and now gains promotion to the NLO League One as well as making the Lagos FA Cup final this year after going out in the quarter final last year.
The Women’s team slightly missed out on promotion to the top flight, the Nigeria Women’s Football League after finishing second in their group but face Robo Queens in the Cup final this year after losing out to the same team in the semi final last year.
“It’s all about hard work, we made sacrifices, developing the winning mentality and we’re here at the finals and hoping to lift both trophies which is difficult but possible, especially with the women facing a team that has dominated the cup for years and play in the top flight but nothing is impossible,” Mr Danny concluded.
