Bola Mukaila’s free kick in the 67th minute was all Glorious Day needed to send Badagry United out of the WGB Lagos FA Cup.
Badagry United lost 0-1 to Glorious Day in the round of 54 of the WGB Lagos FA Cup which took place this afternoon at the Alade sports center, Ipaja Command, Alimosho.
The two teams gave a good account of themselves in the encounter watched by an appreciable crowd and officials from Lagos FA.
The second half was tough for both teams but Glorious Day’s winning goal came when Mukaila converted a free-kick to send his team to the next stage of the tournament.
Mukaila in a chat with sports247.ng expressed delight over the victory boasting that he would continue to score more goals in subsequent matches.
“I am happy that my free-kick earned victory for my team. I am prepared for the FA Cup and our fans should expect more from me in our subsequent matches,” he said.
Mukaila has sounded a note of warning to other teams in the tournament to beware of Glorious Day saying that he is ready to wreak more havoc in their next game.
