West Ham are interested in QPR winger of Nigerian descent, Eberechi Eze and the Championship club could ask for Jordan Hugill as a makeweight in negotiations.
The Hammers though have interest from other Championship sides in Hugill while Crystal Palace is also keen on Eze.
Manager David Moyes’s priority is to bring in defenders. The club needs to sell before they can challenge and get their top targets properly though Moyes hopes they can hold on to Declan Rice.
Chelsea also admires the 21-year-old among others but the Stamford Bridge club is yet to make an offer and Rice has not expressed a desire to leave.
Although the Hammers managed to narrowly escape Premier League relegation late on in the season, Moyes will be wary that he will need to add recruitments to avoid another year fighting for top-flight survival.
The Hammers have been chasing France youth international Chrislain Matsima, with the 18-year-old, who plays for Monaco, viewed as one of the best young defenders in Europe with the likes Juventus and Atletico Madrid interested.
