One of West Africa’s most prestigious golf tournaments is set to kick off, with top golfers from across the region competing for coveted prizes.

The tournament, taking place from today until October 1, 2023, promises to be a thrilling event on the exquisite golf course.
Leading the lineup is Senegalese professional golfer Samba Niang, who is based in the United States.
The competition will feature a star-studded field, including Nigeria’s number-one player and two-time winner of the 2023 Professional Golf Development Tour, Francis Epe.
Defending champion and former Nigeria’s best player, Sunday Olapade, and Ghana’s top player, Vincent Torgah, are also among the contenders looking to secure a portion of the impressive N12 million prize fund.
Other notable Nigerian players participating in the tournament include Gift Willy from Python Golf Club, Oche Odoh from IBB International Golf and Country Club, Chidi Tobias from Ikeja Golf, Mike Ubi from Python, and Kabir Mohammed from Kano Golf Club.

The international element of the competition will feature Agbavon Kosivi from Togo and Richard Kouame from Cote d’Ivoire.
The tournament is proudly sponsored by GAC Motors, ARM Pension, 7up Bottling Company, Providus Bank, and Nigerian Breweries, underscoring its significance in the golfing calendar.
Femi Olagbenro, Golf Manager at the host course, Lakowe Lakes Golf and Country Estate, explained that the event would be contested over 56 holes, with the top player set to claim a handsome N2 million prize from the purse.
Lakowe Lakes Golf Course is renowned for its challenging layout, testing the skills of even the most accomplished golfers.
