Coming from behind, defending champions of the Nigeria Women’s Football League, Rivers Angels, picked up a win over Nasarawa Amazons to take them up to second place on the table.
Mercy Idoko gave the Amazons the lead in the 39th minute before being cancelled out by Maryann Ezeanagu and Deborah Kehinde’s goal for the Angels.
“It was a good win but looking at the next game, we’ll approach the game with all effort than we’ve given because we’re facing the host team and it requires seriously and determination to go all out for the victory,” Rivers Angels Deborah Abiodun told Sports247.
With a game to spare, Rivers Angels already have their chances of defending the title gone but Deborah says the real is determined to fight till the end.
“We’re defending champions and till the very last minute we’ll fight as this is football,” she said.
