The board of Ekiti Football Association ably led by Bayo Olanlege, Saturday, in Ado-Ekiti unveiled the management of the state youth teams. The youth teams which comprises the U13, U16 and the U19, will be lead by a coterie of tested and youthful coaches, as well as experienced team managers.
The management teams, according to the State FA Chairman, Bayo Olanlege, includes Gboyega Afolabi, Olaifa Temitope and Kehinde Anjorin, as team manager, team coordinator and head coach respectively, for the senior team.
The U16 team has Adedeji Adu, as team manager, Aziz Ogunlayi as team coordinator, and Coach Bolarinwa Idris, from Ekiti State Sports Council, as head of the technical crew. While the management of the U13 team is led by Yemi Awopetu, as team manager; Qozeem Oladapo, a sports journalist is the team coordinator, and Femi Kumuyi, as head of the technical crew.
Olanlege went ahead to enthuse greatly about the future of football in Ekiti state. He said; “we are not relenting on our desires to build a long lasting and sustainable football legacy for Ekiti state. And with the supports of the state government and genuine football promoters and enthusiasts, I want to assure you that with the formation of these youth teams, the future of football in Ekiti state, is bright.”
The youthful and highly resourceful football administrator, went ahead to reveal plans by the Ekiti FA, to establish a female football team for the state.
Earlier in the week, 40 players were selected from over 100 players who took part in a three-day screening exercise to form the state U16 team.
Speaking after the screening exercise, the head coach of the team, Bolarinwa Idris expressed excitement with the abundance of talents scouted from various local government areas in the state. He added that the technical crew will work harder to ensure that a formidable team is selected to make the state and the country, proud.
On his part, General Manager of the team, Adedeji Adu, while congratulating the selected youngsters, also commended the technical crew for a job well done. Adu urged them not to relent in their efforts, if the goals of using football as a tool for youth development is to be achieved.
