Wema Bank’s digital banking platform Alat over a year ago extended their partnership with non-professional football and entertainment league SociaLiga Football League.
The SociaLiga Football League is an organisation of amateur football clubs, who play football on a part-time basis.
The Chief Executive Officer of the league Opeyemi Tokoya said that the partnership was extended because both parties shared similar values.
“The partnership with Alat is good for us and we are excited to have them on board for another year. Our shared goals made it a win-win situation for both parties,” he said.
“Alat is Nigeria’s first digital banking platform that is targeted at the youths and everyone who wants to bank with ease. SociaLiga is a gathering of youth amateur players who play football in an atmosphere of entertainment and fun. They are focused and as such we have the Alat Save of the Week, Goal of the Week and other attractions on social media.
Alat’s Media Relations Officer Ehis Okpamen said the platform partnered SociaLiga because they have the bank’s target audience.
He said, “Alat is Wema Bank’s flagship product for the teeming Nigerian youths and SociaLiga as a platform that brings youths together fitted the bill – hence the partnership.
“Youths love sports and entertainment and anywhere we have them, Alat has to be there. We are glad to partner the league.”
