The leadership of the National Sports Commission (NSC) has committed to advancing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda through transformative initiatives in the sports sector.

During a progress report presentation at the Presidential Villa on Thursday, Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko and Director General Hon. Bukola Olopade pledged unwavering dedication to the President and Nigerians.
In an exclusive conversation following the meeting, Mallam Shehu Dikko expressed gratitude for the President’s trust in his leadership.
“As the father of the nation, I want to thank you once again for choosing me and my brother, the DG, Bukola Olopade, for this all-important assignment. I see it as a massive opportunity to help propagate the Renewed Hope agenda through sports,” Dikko said with conviction.
He elaborated on the commission’s early successes, stating:
“We have already started work, and the response we are getting from stakeholders and the private sector has been very encouraging. We have no doubt that your Renewed Hope agenda will surely be fulfilled in the sports sector.”
Similarly, Hon. Bukola Olopade voiced a shared commitment to delivering on the Commission’s responsibilities.
“As our father, I want to specially thank you, sir, for all you are doing and for being a sports-loving father to the country. On our part, we promise not to fail you and the country,” Olopade affirmed.
He highlighted President Tinubu’s vision for the sports sector:
“You are very determined to see that Nigerian sports has a sustainable economic outlook, and we will not disappoint you in ensuring that this becomes a reality.”
The meeting also featured Chief Adegboye Adeyinka, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports Development, who promised to utilize his position to nurture talent from the grassroots.
President Tinubu’s commitment to revitalizing Nigerian sports by fostering growth, sustainability, and private-sector collaboration remains evident.
The NSC’s leadership pledged to uphold this vision, signaling a new era for sports as a key contributor to Nigeria’s economy.
