Super Falcons Captain Desire Oparanozie has promised that Nigeria’s outing at the forthcoming FIFA Women’s Cup will be successful – due to the experience of the team.
Asisat Oshoala will be playing at her second FIFA Women’s World Cup tournament, Francisca Ordega and Oparanozie their third while veteran defender Onome Ebi is on the brink of history as the first African player to feature at five FIFA Women’s World Cup tournaments.
”I can assure you that we are going to surpass our previous World Cup outings and we have resolved not only to do well but to lift the trophy in France,” Oparanozie stated.
“Nigerians should pray for us to be injury free during the competition as we are ever ready to make them proud. You will also realise that the majority of us have been to the World Cup and we have the experience.”
Nigeria’s first match at the World Cup is against Norway on June 4, followed by encounters with South Korea and hosts France.
The tournament is scheduled to be held from June 7 to July 7.
