Nasarawa United head coach Abubakar Arikya has stated that it is time for his side to focus their attention on their next game fixture after having lost to Plateau United in Nigeria Premier Football League match-day 15 which ended 1-0 in favor of the home side at the New Jos Stadium, on Sunday evening.
Reacting to the loss, Arikya bemoaned that his side had been the better of the two teams and didn’t deserve to lose the game.
“Everyone can attest to the fact that we played better than our hosts today. We were just unlucky. It’s painful that we lost,” Abubakar Ariya said.
“We now turn our focus to our next game at home against visiting Shooting Stars of Ibadan where we hope to get the maximum points and continue with our fight against the drop zone.”
Following Sunday’s defeat, the Solid Miners have now failed to win any of their last six matches in the NPFL.
After 15 matches and three games to the end of the season, Nasarawa United sit in ninth place in Group and risk relegation after having garnered just 10 points in as many games.
Their final three weeks of the season will see them take on Shooting Stars, Kwara United, and Group A leaders Bendel Insurance.
