80 million naira was the amount Kwara United paid to be back to the top flight of Nigerian football league.
The amount paid to Delta Forc was a slot buying fee after some games had been played in the season.
This disclosure was made in an interview session by chairman of Kwara United, elder Kunbi Titiloye.
‘well there is no secrecy in the acquisition of Delta Force, this something that was initiated when the season started, it was concluded until the league commenced. Kwara United paid 80million naira’.
Explaining how both teams managed players affair, Kunbi said Kwara United took in the players ready to join and others moved on.
‘We took two players who were ready to join us, others moved to Heartland, Rivers United and others’.
Elder kunbi also said that the problems the NPFL has is not peculiar to Nigeria as it is a continental issue in football.
‘Whatever problem the NPFL is facing, it is not a problem or challenge the league is facing in isolation, it is the same problems all over Africa, Europe and other parts of the world, the league management company are trying their best and also you must remember that Nigeria is a very big country where you must listen to various interest groups’.
The executive head narrated that the club is working hand in hand with the state government to ensure that every penny owed is paid adequately.
‘yes, it is true that the club is owing, we are working on it seriously with the state governor to ensure that as soon as fund is released, payment would be made’.
Kwara United currently sit 19th position on the NPFL log and will battle for survival when the league resumes from its break.
