The Super Eagles of Nigeria take on the Desert Foxes of Algeria in a second international friendly game in Oran, Algeria as head coach Peseiro continues to work towards building a good team for the AFCON qualifiers.
Days ago, a mixed Nigeria side with an unusual blend played out a 2-2 draw with Algeria B side made up of home-based players with Alex Iwobi and Cyril Dessers getting on the scoresheet.
“We’ve been training well. We tried to introduce some dynamics, and some exercises to look for the best orientation for our team. We’ll pick players who will give the maximum on the pitch and off the pitch as well,“ Peseiro said.
“We play against a good team, a strong team, we’ll work to beat them because we have quality in that squad to fight Algeria,” he added.
Algeria with their main squad earlier defeated Guinea 1-0 the same night the Super Eagles played a draw with the B side and Peseiro believes the players in camp are enough to give Algeria a fight today.
“We have other players in camp. What is important is the players that are here. I have confidence in them, I hope we do well because I have confidence in the squad to fight in the game,” Peseiro concluded.
Nigeria play Algeria today, Tuesday 27th September 2022 at the Stade Olympique d’Oran with kickoff at 8:00 pm.
