The President of Glamour FC, Abdulkareem Abubakar Eyitayo has revealed some of the reasons why the Ilorin based club was created a year ago.
In a chat with Sportspro News correspondent recently, Eyitayo said the club which can be described as a ‘working class’ team was founded on the premise of impacting positively on society.
“Glamour FC was started by a group of friends who are professionals with the aims to keep ourselves fit, indulge in some community services and add more to the value of the society”
Speaking about some of their activities, the helmsman noted that the one- year old club have been able to carry out some undertakings in consonance with its inception message.
“We had our one year anniversary on the 8th of November this year. We visited the motherless baby home as part of our activities to mark the occasion and also did a little bit of empowerment to people around us” Eyitayo said.
Glamour FC which is also known as ‘the Balanguans’ according to their President will also be advocating against drug abuse and involve in some community service in the coming year apart from their charity dispositions.
While noting the relationship and partnership with another club with a similar vision, Excel All-Stars, he stated that “Excel are our family friends. Even though they are our seniors, we normally come together to share ideas giving the fact we have some of our members among them and vice versa”.
Glamour FC, which has also organized a football tourney among its members will be playing their final on Sunday 20th of December at their training ground located at the Lower River Niger Basin Authority football pitch. The final is billed for 8 am.
