Nasarawa United coach Abubakar Arikiya believes his wards have showed improvement in their pre season preparation ahead of the 2019/20 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
He made this known to Ahlan Cup Media after his team’s 1-0 victory against Jigawa Golden Stars in the Ahlan Cup Group A fixture at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Tuesday.
Nasarawa United had a slow start in their first game as they were humbled 2-0 by Lobi Stars.
“We are preparing gradually for the season and the team is taking shape,” Abubakar Arikiya told Ahlan Cup Media.
“I am impressed with the vast improvement from the loss against Lobi Stars to a positive display against an enterprising Jigawa Golden Stars team.
Abubakar Arikiya’s emphasis will be on his defence line as he hopes to make a resounding impact in the new season.
