The defending Champions of then Suru-Lere League now the Fusion Football Championship lost 2-0 to Emmydinho Fc in their match week 7 of the League, and are still searching for their First win.
In a chat with Sports247, after the game, Coach Abiodun Samuel, despite his side’s poor start, still persist that his side is still the team to beat in the League stating that when a team are champions, every team wants to beat them. He also stated that the new additions of players to his team are still trying to adapt and blend with his coaching philosophy, which is one of the factors to his team’s poor start.
“It’s very frustrating not winning in two matches, but it’s part of the game. You don’t expect it to be that easy, especially when you are a champion, everyone definitely wants to beat you, coupled with the fact we brought a lot of new guys into the team, still struggling with blending and adapting to my coaching philosophy so to speak. It’s not bad though because we are moving, even though we haven’t won yet, we are optimistic that at the right time, the winnings will definitely come, we will keep on trying until we get there”.
“Our Moral isn’t down, because we expected the pressure at the first place, being the team to beat and the defending Champions. Everyone who wants to play Goshen Stars is like they want to play Real Madrid. We are aware of that fact, so expect a stronger us in our next game”, he emphasized
