The National President of Super Eagles Supporters Club, Prince Vincent Okumagba has congratulated the Super Eagles of Nigeria on a strong finish of the Cameroon 2022 AFCON Qualifying series after they(Super Eagles) thumped visiting Lesotho by 3 unreplied goals at the Teslim Balogun Stadium Surulere Lagos.
The first-half goal by Victor Osimehn coupled with second-half goals by Oghenekaro Etebo and inform Paul Onuachu undid the little resolve of the Crocodiles of Lesotho. Reacting after the match, Prince Okumagba stated how satisfied and happy he and the members of SESC are in the triumph of the Eagles on their last match of the AFCON qualifiers.
“Wonderful, wonderful it was. We didn’t expect anything less. And as such, the Eagles delivered. And because of that, I am happy. We all know how demanding the Lagos fans are and it’s satisfying to mention that the players rose to the occasion even with nothing at stake. So I am happy, we are all happy. On our part, SESC gave a good account of ourselves. We have been on for hours now and so we are happy this is happening”
The Delta-born administrator went further to pour encomiums on the invited home-based players as he particularly singled out Anayo Iwuala for special praise.
“Very very impressive, he was really outstanding in the few minutes he was given. I think his confidence will grow with time. Just give him time. This is the thing we are asking for, just give the local lads some run-in in the squad eventually they will get the confidence and they will go there and deliver for Nigeria.”
The gyration continued late in the night as Nigerians await the World Cup qualifying series to kick-off.
