Gernot Rohr, Super Eagles technician who recently signed a contract extension with the National team following a long standing row with NFF setting out new terms of his continuous stay has been backed by the Minister for youth and sports development,
Sunday Dare to achieve set out objectives, holding him to a higher level of responsibilities as the team progresses in player development, hunt for honours and global recognition.
Dare revealed, “there must have been world standard, except when it comes to world standard for coaches too, there are various levels with the conditions where we have put him, I think it’s only fair if he has accepted to let him continue but then we are going to hold him to a higher standard of responsibilities to a greater depth of technicality in our football and to a greater level of sucess”.
“If he doesn’t meet the desired standard, we can terminate his contract, so we are not really stucked with him, he has an opportunity to prove himself, even if we bring the best coach in the world, we will set the same standard for that coach, we will build him point if those expectations, expected outcome are not meet, that best coach in the world will also be shown the way out”, he cautioned.
“So I think we’ll just let this play out, he has also made promises that things will get better, we will just wait and see what happens eventually”, the minister urged.
