The 2025 Nigeria Scrabble Federation (NSF) Inter-Club Finals officially kicked off today at Florence Hotel and Suites, Benin City, Edo State, with eight elite teams competing for the prestigious national crown.
Captain of Central Scrabble Club of Abuja (CSCA), Francis Molokwu, declared that his team is in Benin City with a clear objective to win.

“We are in Benin City not as tourists but as strong contenders for the title,” Molokwu said.
“Youth, experience, and teamwork will enhance our chances of winning the Scrabble club crown at the end of what promises to be a fiercely contested competition, ” he added.
He highlighted that Central Scrabble Club of Abuja, widely regarded as the biggest Scrabble club in Nigeria and by extension, Africa, boasts a dynamic mix of youthful talent and experienced players, each bringing unique and captivating styles of play to the table.
“Central Scrabble Club is a unique unifier. It is a perfect blend of individuals from various sectors of society, students, businesspeople, technocrats, politicians, men and women from across different states.”
“The depth of their support and generosity to the club and its members is truly commendable,” he added.
Molokwu, who has been with the club since 2009, expressed confidence in his team’s ability to perform, despite the absence of some top players due to family commitments.
The CSCA teams are divided into two squads:
CSCA A: David Yuwa, Friday Ogboyomi, Chris Nnamani, Eugene Okim, and Prince Majemite
CSCA B: Francis Molokwu, Emeka Ekwenugo, Success Sule, Kelvin Ekeh, and Lanre Adigun
The teams are drawn into two groups:
Group A: Benin Scrabble Club (host), Surulere Scrabble Club, Yenagoa Scrabble Club, Central Scrabble Club B (Abuja)
Group B: Pyramid Scrabble Club (Lagos, defending champions), Port Harcourt Scrabble Club, Central Scrabble Club A (Abuja), Gateway Scrabble Club (newcomers)
