Nasarawa United team Manager, Yahaya Musa Wambai, says the daily improvement in the club at the Ahlan Preseason Cup Tournament is proving doubters and pundits wrong.
Wambai who is one of the 9-man Management members appointed by Governor Abdullahi Sule to spearhead the government-owned football club following the dissolution of the Barrister Isaac Danladi-led Management team, made the disclosure to Nasarawa United Media Team shortly after the game between Nasarawa United and Katsina United on Thursday.
“When the announcement of our appointment came to the public domain, a lot of people felt disillusioned, doubting our capability. But the results from our preseason tournaments, both the one we had in Abuja and this one(Ahlan Cup) are gradually proving such doubters wrong”, he said.
He attributed Nasarawa United’s progress to discipline, team work, persistence and continuity on the side of the technical crew.
Wambai added that, though it is too early to make a definite statement on the team, especially when the Nigerian league has not started, he, however, was of the opinion that the experiences gathered from the preseasons will prepare the club for success in the future.
The Team Manager further added that the Management is opened to progressive advise from stakeholders to help propel the team to higher heights as their aim is to win trophies and make continental impact.
Nasarawa United defeated Katsina United 2-0 on Thursday, at the Kano Pillars Stadium, Sabon Gari, to top the Group A table with six points from three games, and qualified to the quarter-finals stage of the 2019 Ahlan Preseason Cup Tournament holding in Kano
