Flying Eagles’ captain, Ikouwen Udoh has expressed confidence in the U-20 team ahead of the World Cup in Poland after a not too impressive outing at the U-20 AFCON in Niger where they finished runners up.
Udoh told Sports247 that the team is going for serious business at the world cup in Poland with a different mentality that was experienced during the qualifiers.
“I’m confident we can perform better at the world stage. We will prepare very well in Germany so that we will give a good account of ourselves when the World Cup begins in Poland,” Udoh said.
The left-back also expressed excitement with the call up of few overseas players to boost the squad and believes their presence will help give stiffer competition to ensure the best legs are selected to represent the country.
The Paul Aigbogun-led boys open their campaign against Qatar at the Tychy City Stadium on May 24.
