“Watch Out For Improved Nigeria In Nations Cup” – Coach Salami

Technical Adviser/Chief coach of Nigeria, Handball National team Coach Rafiu Salami is confident that Nigeria will do well in the Africa Nations Cup holding in Tunisia as there have been massive improvement in the way his team play.

Salami, who joined the national camp in Tunis on January 1, 2020 from his base in France where he manage top flight side Issy Handball Club, praised his assistants Coaches Solomon Yola and Segun Tunji for helping to improve the physicality of team before he joined camp.

He further believe that the tactical aspect of the game he has introduce alongside the physical aspect has made the team play better as evident in all of their games.

“The team is progressing physically and tactically as my colleagues have handled the physical aspect of the training before I even came to camp

Looking at all of the warm up games we have played, there is a nice blend between how we play physically and tactically and this has helped to greatly improve the way we play”

While giving kudos to the team for responding well to training, he declared that Nigeria is ready as they play their first match against Angola on Thursday.

Technical director of the Handball Federation of Nigeria Coach Ferdinand Emeana, meanwhile, appreciated HFN President, Mr. Sam Ocheho for ensuring that the team had the opportunity to go on a training tour to Tunisia before the nation’s cup.

He believes that experience gathered by the National Male Handball Team from playing four quality friendly matches will propel them to do well when the competition proper commences on Thursday.
