With a do or die clash coming up for the Golden Eaglets on Saturday against arch-rivals, Black Starlets of Ghana, chief coach of the Golden Eaglets, Fatai Amoo has assured fans of a better performance.
The Golden Eaglets fell to the baby Elephants of Ivory Coast in the first game by a lone goal in Lome.
To qualify for the next stage of the competition, the Nigerian side must defeat the Ghanaians on Saturday to stand a chance.
Ahead of the must-win game, Fatai Amoo assured soccer-loving fans in the country of a better performance from his boys.
“We will work on all the mistakes we noticed, we will do the necessary corrections before the next game. My boys are good, very good.”
On the slim loss to fellow West African country, Ivory Coast, the gaffer blamed it on inexperience.
“It was a very difficult game for my boys. Given the fact that they are playing in such an atmosphere before, as a result, they were jittery.”
“We played against a more formidable side given the level of preparation we had, the boys will do better.” He added.
Just the U-20 team in Benin republic, Amoo and his team might crash out of the tournament if they fail to pick 3 points against Ghana on Saturday.
