The chairman of NFF Football Intermediaries Association of Nigeria, Ayodele Thomas has congratulated Super Falcons of Nigeria for winning the just concluded West African Football Union Tournament held in Abidjan, sports247.ng
Super Falcons defeated Ivory Coast 5-4 in a penalty shoot out to become the latest champions after black queens of Ghana won the last edition.
In a brief chat with media in Lagos on Saturday, Thomas said, “First I must say a big congratulations to our ladies for making us proud once again. I always believe in them. I know that Nigeria has all it takes to produce quality men and women footballer that will always represent this country any time any day.
“If you watch this girls from the beginning of the tournament, you will agree with me that they have all it takes to win the finals which they did so,” he said.
Speaking on the forth coming FIFA Women World in France, Thomas maintained that the Super Falcons will shock the world when the competition kicks of next Month.
“I believe most of the girls that played in the WAFU tournament are home based and they did perfectly well. So I am beginning to imagine what will happen in France when the like Oshola, Oparanozie,Chikwelu and rest of others join them ,I see them going far in that competition,” he added.
“With the kind of quality training tour and many friendly matches with few tournaments they embarked on before now, I see them excel in the World Cup.
“All we need is to support the team, pray for them and sky will be their limit. I tip them as the only African country that will qualify from the group,” Ayodele Thomas stated.
