As the world looks forward to the inaugural Women’s Amputee World Cup, Nigerian team member John Gloria has made a heartfelt plea for national support.

Celebrating her birthday, Gloria emphasized the importance of unified backing for the team as they prepare to represent Nigeria on the global stage for the first time.
“This is the first time the World Cup is happening, and Nigeria is privileged to have our team nominated to participate,” Gloria stated.
She expressed immense gratitude to their President, Paul Maduakur, for making their participation possible. “We are so grateful, and that is why we are all putting our heads and efforts together to ensure a strong representation for Nigeria.”
The tournament, set to take place in Colombia in November, may seem distant, but Gloria stressed the urgency of beginning preparations immediately. “We are using this medium to urge every meaningful Nigerian to support this team.
Your financial and moral support is essential,” she said. “While November might seem far off, preparation must start now. We are really looking forward to it and hope to play many friendly games to prepare, as this will be beneficial for us.”
The Nigerian amputee women’s team is determined to make a significant impact at the World Cup. Gloria sees this as a unique opportunity for Nigeria to excel.
“If every team is participating for the first time, I see this as a great opportunity for us to win it on our first attempt,” she remarked. “The key will be in our preparation, and with the best possible preparation, the sky will be our limit.”
