Prior to the World Africa Boxing Association (WABA) convention in Dubai, April 2021, the Republic of Zimbabwe will host three WABA titles in March.
The great Charles Manyuchi will meet the Ugandan hard puncher Med Sebyala for the “WABA World Supreme Middleweight Title” in addiikon to the WBF world title while Zimbabwean Princess Revai Mandondo will meet South Korean Justine Lallemand for the WABA International Super Flyweight Title where he WBF title will be in play.
Zimbabwean boxing rising star Tinashe Mwadziwaba meets Tanzanian (Tanzanite Boy) Hamidu Kwata for the “WABA All Africa Lightweight Title” respectively.
The tournament billed as the “Knockout Sanctions” intends to mobilize the world especially the South Africa Development Council (SADC) to implement it’s resolutions for the lifting of the economic sanction im,posed on Zimbabwe since 2003.
Promoters Charles Manyuchi Boxing Academy owned by Charles Manyuchi and Deltaforce Boxing Academy owned by the internationally celebrated Cylde Musonda are pouring in colossal investment to realize the great event taking place at the Zimbabwe National Stadium in Harare, Zimbabwe respectively.
The WABA Convention in Dubai comes at a time when the Covid-19 Pandemic has appended lives the world over since February this year. WABA in partnership with the Ringside Gym Global have agreed to organize the Convention that would bring combat sports stakeholders to Dubai to celebrate it’s pristine and ambivalent scenery.
The planned convention schedule will include a tour of Dubai, 9 hole golf completion (for golf players with a low skill level or handicap). After the General Assembly, there will be a judges seminar to be followed by the refereeing, medical, cutman, and ratings.
The WABA annual baguet will include awards to champions and best category promoters. Several well known former and world champions, as well as promoters, managers, and matchmakers, will be invited to the 5-day annual banquet (Monday to Friday).
Registration for the WABA annual convention will kickstarts in December 2020 for the “Early Birds” registration with 10% discount offer.
The WABA President Onesmo Alfred McBride Ngowi from Tanzania, Vice President Simon Adjamba from Namibia and Director of the Human Resources Management (DHRM) Irene Joseph Magebo from Tanzania represents WABA in the organizing Committee while WABA Commissioner to the Middle East, Persian Gulf, Samoa Zack Taumafai and Payam Honari the WABA Commissioner to the Middle East, Persian Gulf and Iran represents the Ringside Gym Global respectively.
