Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) secretary-general, Malam Adamu Kano has disclosed that efforts are already in place to ensure the country’s under-19 team become world champions next year.
While many critics would see it as a pipe dream, Kano said the volleyball federation’s board is already working hard to take the team higher.
He added that, although the under-21 team could not show the same top performance in the Africa championships hosted in Abuja, the under-19 side will have a different fate, as they prepare for the world contest.
Kano disclosed: “The board of the federation is already doing all they can to ensure that the under-19 team get a good performance in the world championship next year.
“Having earlier recently won the gold medal in this year’s Africa Youth Games in Algiers, we believe they can surprise everyone, even on the global level.”
