The much awaited ANIOMA Cup Finals comes up this weekend at the Agbor Township Stadium with Visionaries FC Ogwashi Uku taking on Ihu-iyase FC of Agbor.
The Anioma Cup Tournament which is being organized by the Delta North Football Coaches Council headed by Coach Emeka Okwutu is in just second edition following the 2021 Finals in which Big Daddy FC of Agbor defeated Osevan FC of Kwale.
Twenty Four teams took part in the 2022 Edition with games played at various Centers Within the Delta North Senatorial District.
Visionaries FC can be regarded as the proverbial cat with 7 lives haven scuttled over several hurdles to get to the finals and are now set to ensure the trophy does leaves Agbor. Coach Victor believes his team will give everything to win the title despite the distractions along the line.
“My boys are determined, personally l have given up hope following the several postponement of the Finals, but they are ready to give everything to ensure we win the match come on Saturday” he said.
For Coach Timonth Ujah of Ihu-iyase, the Agbor side will do all they can to ensure the trophy remains in Agbor, Timothy has thus called on all Agbor fans to come out to support his team to Victory on Saturday ” on behalf of the management staff and players of Ihu_iyase fc Agbor we request the presence of all fans and their players in Agbor on the 28th of January to support us for the final of Anioma nation cup” he wrote on the Agbor Coaches WhatsApp platform.
Meanwhile the finals will be preceded by a Congress of the Delta North Football Coaches Council before which a novelty match between Anioma Coaches and Ika Coaches will take place at 1:30pm. The Finals between Visionaries and Ihu-iyase will kick off at 3:00pm prompt.
