Nigeria Beach Soccer League Champions, Kebbi Beach Soccer Club has been forced to abandon the 2024 World Winners Cup competition which began in Italy on Tuesday due to Visa denial by the Italian embassy, Sports247 reports.
A statement put out by the beach club on Tuesday confirmed their non participation in the competition in the World Winners Cup due to non issuance of visas by the Italian Embassy.

” This decision comes after the non-issuance of visas to the team by the Italian Embassy, citing a late application despite several communications since August”.
“Although we are disappointed to miss out on the opportunity to feature in the World Cup for beach soccer clubs for the third time, we are committed to representing Nigeria and Africa at global events.” The statement reads in parts.
The club has now shifted their focus to the upcoming domestic competitions in the 2024/2025 seasons.
“We now shift focus on preparation for the 2024/2025 Kebbi Beach Soccer League (KBSL) and 2025 Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) with the hope of retaining the league title and extending our haul to four in five seasons,”.
Meanwhile, the team were walked over in their first match of the competition against their opponent, Copenhagen Beach Soccer Club as three points and three goals were awarded to the Danish team.
Kebbi BSC were grouped in Group C alongside Copenhagen BSC, Real Münster of Germany, and Al-Taawoun Club from Saudi Arabia.
The competition is taking place in Alghero in Italy, a gathering of the best of Beach Soccer clubs around the world.
